Notes I took during an Udemy session named "Success Tips - Boosting Confidence, Wealth and Productivity". Nothing official, just sharing my notes... as I did in my previous post "Roadmap To Leadership".
Successful people model other successful people. They do not reinvent the wheel
Start modeling successful people by asking yourself these questions: • What are the characteristics they have in common? • What are their habits? • What are the things they do that most people are not prepared to do? • What are the things they never do that most people do? • What were the biggest challenges they faced? • What opportunities they missed and were the lessons they learned? The power of appreciation: • Instead of just appreciating people in your own mind, externalize it and let those people know (phone call, text message or whatever) that your are grateful for X or Y. Vision: • Do not hope things will happen. Take actions to make them happen • Define what you want for yourself (not what your boss, your family or your friends want for yourself) • Be passionate in what you do, that how you get up after each failure • Define your personal vision of success How to set and achieve massive goals? • Goals are crucial, should be specific and well-defined. It is different to wish something • Need to jot your goals down • Goals have to be exciting (to not give up) • Long term goals (12 months) have to be divided in short term goals (3 – 4 months). • Take weekly actions to achieve to short term goals • Every single day, review your goals and envision the positive outcome and ask yourself what can I do today in order to get closer to my goals • Track your progress • Embrace accountability (put pressure on yourself, like set your goal public) Comfort zone • Magic does not happen in our comfort zone • Push comfort zone on daily basis • Every time we do face our fears, we expand our comfort zone • Face fears and push comfort zone every day Power of concentration • Focus on the present. Not on past or future • 80:20 law o Majority of results is triggered by minority of actions • All tasks have not equal importance o Start with critical tasks, whether you feel like it or not • Every morning, jet down your critical goal of the day, and take commitment to work on it without interruption Approach adversities like Stoics • Be resilient o Define your fears and the worst scenario o Define solutions you have if worst scenario happens? o Compare potential benefits to potential risks • From time to time, do uncomfortable things o Go to work by foot o Eat less then you used to o Take cold showers o … o It will demonstrate yourself that you can handle successfully uncomfortable things: increase your level of confidence How to handle misfortune • Even is negative things happen to you, focus on positive things • Turn obstacles into opportunities • Your perception becomes your reality Morning ritual • What you do on the morning sets the context of your whole day: positive momentum • First things to do in the morning o Smile o Drink water o Stretching o Fell the gratitude and appreciate things you have o Review your goals and imagine how it feel to achieve these goals o Then start with uncomfortable/challenging tasks o Work on your most important goal without interruption during 2 hours • We become our habits Trap of seeking approvals • We cannot please everybody • If you want to do something epic, massive vision, achieve big goals, you will always make somebody angry Rétroliens
